2013 C Districts \ State Youth of the Year Winner The State YotY finalist for the National Final is C2s Katerina Blekic [Mildura Secondary College] from Irymple Lions in Sunraysia.
The Public Speaking winner is C1s Maria Hull [Salisbury High School] from Paralowie Club Lions.
Katerina is a most worthwhile winner and will represent the C Districts \ State well in the YotY National Final to be held in Canberra on Saturday 27th April.
Maria was a most worthwhile Public Speaking winner and is also to be proud of her success.
The other three finalists, Claudia Bailey [Tenison Woods College] Gambier City Lions, Emi Schutz [Pedare Christian College] Golden Grove Lions and Thomas Zampa [Concordia College] Unley Lions should likewise be extremely proud of their efforts and endeavour to this stage.
While we have all watched and waited through various levels feeling the stress and strain of that, for the five state finalists the workload and strain has been even higher.
Four times they have been interviewed at length, put through those two and most times difficult impromptu questions and then presented their prepared speeches. The latter two activities under timed conditions and the watchful eye of the audience and their fellow contestants.
For Katerina, it all happens one more time on the biggest stage and before the largest audience.
Best wishes to Katerina for the National Final, she will have the combined thoughts and best wishes from the 127 Lions Clubs, 4 Lioness Clubs and 2 Leos Clubs of C1 & C2 behind her.
